This is the program being operated through Central Vancouver Island Immigrant and Multicultural Society to help businesses with less than 100 employees up-skill staff through providing funds towards training.  Our area contact is Pedro Olivera at CVIMS in Nanaimo http://www.cvims.org/.  This is the program link: http://www.aspect.bc.ca/tssp.

In order for an organization to qualify for the ASPECT Targeted Skills Shortage Program you must have less than 100 employees and identify with one of the following sectors:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services
  • Health Care and Social Assistance
  • Transportation and Warehousing
  • Manufacturing

You must have an eligible employee(s) who either does not possess a high school diploma or has a high school diploma but does not have any recognized certification. Each eligible employee is able to participate in the program only once, however more than one “growth employee” from your organization can take part in the program at the same time.
